Hotel on the Road 66

You can find this escape room in the 60 Out at the Howard Hughes Center in Los Angeles. Now I’m not one to be scared of escape rooms but boy was skittish during this wonderful room. Without giving any spoilers I will say that the attention to detail these designers committed to was awesome. I felt transported into a real roadside inn with no escape. But the true stars of the show were the puzzles. I didn’t feel they were too hard or too easy like Goldilocks they were just the right amount of challenging to test your wit but not leave you frustrated. This escape room is an easy recommendation for veterans and beginners.

Apple Vision Pro

I was able to get my hands on an Apple Vision Pro thanks to a close friend and let me tell you Apple is cooking but the dish just isn’t ready yet. Stay with me in this food metaphor, Apple has all the ingredients for a really good VR headset. The eye-tracking technology is insane, the picture quality is the best I’ve seen in years, and the fact that it’s all wireless was throwing me for loops. However, the Vision Pro just doesn’t have any substance. The headset’s current main functionality seems to be for office work mixed with some real-world applications. The ability to plan out virtual office presentations and meetings is very appealing for technology-centric companies. The Vision Pro can also be worn around the town for those fashion types. Arguably its coolest feature is real-time language translation which could be great for breaking down walls. But… for four thousand dollars a unit? No way! It’s way too expensive for what the headset does. I think if Apple brings down the price significantly the headset would be more worth it or if they added more features. As it stands, I’m excited to see what Apple does with this technology but I’m taking a pass on the Vision Pro.
